5.2The five question types
| Type | How the question is phrased | What you must do |

| Opinion | To what extent do you agree or disagree? | Take one clear side and defend it throughout |
| Discussion | Discuss both views and give your own opinion. | One paragraph per view, then your own position |
| Advantages and disadvantages | Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages? | Both sides, then a clear judgement on which is greater |
| Problem and solution | What problems does this cause and how can they be solved? | Problems in one paragraph, solutions in the next |
| Two-part question | Why is this happening? What can be done? | Answer both parts, one paragraph each |
